CITCO and IRCTC have signed MOU to work together to promote Tourism in Chandigarh.

Chandigarh, August 23, 2021 : CITCO – Chandigarh Industrial & Tourism Package and IRCTC (Indian Railway Catering & Tourism Corporation) have joined hands by signing an MOU to customize Travel Packages and work together on developing and expanding Tourism vertical in and around Chandigarh. CITCO will emphasize on chalking out tourism spots while IRCTC will bring International and Domestic Tourists by introducing travel packages.

Both parties will jointly explore areas of co-operations and draw up detailed plans for the same. The areas of co-operations would include Development of joint Rail Tourism Products with transport segment provided by IRCTC and Land package support including accommodation, meals and transport etc. to be provided by CITCO.

According to the Managing Director CITCO , Ms Jasvinder Kaur Sidhu IAS,” Using the strength and infrastructure of both parties for the broader objective of promoting tourism destinations is one of the key reasons behind this tie up. Besides this, we will be sharing the web portal where services of both parties could be accessible and promoted.

According to the Chairman and Managing Director IRCTC , Ms Rajni Hasija “ We will also be marketing each other’s Products / Services to our own customers, thus improvising the ranges of services to tourists and travellers. She further added that doing events, Conferences jointly are also our agenda’. We will be using the Joint strength of Railways and CITCO in promoting and marketing our product to travelers.

CITCO will make comprehensive packages for IRCTC passengers. All three CITCO hotels will be listed on IRCTC portals (Tourism, Railway & Air portals) for promotion of packages . These tours would be highlighted on the website & online portal of IRCTC . Additional features in packages to allure the travellers are HOHO Bus Tour City sight-seeing on Hop on Hop off Double Decker Tourist Bus. Cruise package at Sukhna Lake. CITCO and IRCTC will also do joint events in future. 

A New Indian Oil Retail Outlet in Industrial Area Phase-1 to be run by CITCO in Chandigarh

The Governor of Punjab and Administrator UT, Chandigarh Shri V.P. Singh Badnore inaugurates a new Indian Oil Retail Outlet to be run by CITCO in Chandigarh.

Chandigarh, 20th August 2021 : In order to meet the continuously growing demand for petrol in the city, Chandigarh Industrial and Tourism Development Corporation Limited (CITCO) started its 6th Petrol & CNG station at Industrial Area , Phase 1 on Hallo Majra Road Chandigarh here today . CITCO caters to a large number of vehicles from its existing five petrol stations spread across the tricity.

A new state of the art Indian Oil (IOCL) fuel Outlet at Chandigarh’s Industrial Area Phase-I was dedicated to the customers today by Hon’ble Governor of Punjab & Administrator UT Chandigarh, Shri VP Singh Badnore in the presence of Shri Dharampal, IAS, Advisor to Administrator of UT Chandigarh; Sh. Ravi Kant Sharma, Hon’ble Mayor, Chandigarh; Sh. Arun Kumar Gupta, IAS, Principal Secretary (Home) UT Chandigarh cum Chairman CITCO , Ms Jasvinder Kaur Sidhu , IAS , Managing Director CITCO , Mr Rubinderjit Singh Brar , PCS , Chief General Manager CITCO & Sh. SM Vaidya, Chairman, Indian Oil; Sh. Sujoy Choudhury, Executive Director and State Head, Indian Oil Punjab State Office and other Senior officials from Chandigarh administration and Indian Oil officials.

This new Indian Oil Retail Outlet, located at Industrial Area Phase I of Chandigarh, will significantly add to the convenience of residents in the surrounding areas by reducing their travelling time for fuel requirements. CITCO shall operate the outlet. During the event, the first LPG composite cylinder was also handed over to His Excellency, Governor of Punjab & Administrator UT Chandigarh, Shri VP Singh Badnore by the Chairman IOCL.

According to the Managing Director CITCO, presently, CITCO owns five petrol pumps in the city including the compressed natural gas (CNG) dispensing pump on Madhya Marg in Sector 17. With the addition of 6th Pump, we can massively meet the demand of the residents , especially the traffic on the National Highway moving towards Delhi and it will add to its revenues.
