Besides conducting normal functions of hospitality & tourism, CITCO has been fulfilling its social obligations and responsibilities in the larger interest of society.

 

In this direction,CITCO has taken a major initiative to create awareness about Human Immunodeficiency Virus (HIV) & Sexually Transmitted Infections (STI) which have become dreaded diseases and  are destroying human resources across the globe.

 

A unique Condom Bar, one of its only  kind in India has been created by CITCO at Baithak, Kalagram as an added attraction to the existing tourism infrastructure including  food and beverages  facilities being provided at ethnic punjabi styled Rasoi at CITCO Da Vehra. The logo of

Condom Bar has been specially designed to incorporate the international red ribbon visual symbol  used for AIDS awareness. The Condom Bar will have in special decor and environ which shall aesthetically convey the strong message that condom is the most important practical tool to prevent transmission of HIV. National AIDS Control Organisation (NACO) is already involved in various initiatives to curb and create awareness about these dreaded diseases.

 

CITCO has also joined hands with agencies and NGOs involved with AIDS and HIV including the AIDS Control Society of Chandigarh. AIDS awareness messages are being conveyed through specially designed laminates as table tops, while the customers are enjoying at the bar.

 

According to Shri Jasbir Singh Bir, Managing Director, CITCO, souvenirs have been made for display and sale to contribute meaningfully as their social obligation to mitigate and create more awareness about this dreaded diseases of HIV/AIDS. Souvenirs like T- Shirts, Caps, Mugs, Coasters etc. would be available for sale at reasonable rates and the monetary realisation thereof shall be utilized for creating more awareness and curbing this disease  jointly with project AIDS Control Society of Chandigarh.

 

This will be another outlet of CITCO where some sponsored brands of Condoms will be available free of cost in an attractive ambience and comfortable environment. Donation box shall also be kept at the condom bar for the patrons who would like to give monetary contribution towards the prevention and awareness about HIV/AIDS which shall only be utilized for propagating AIDS related events.
